CHAI TEA FOR A RELAXING, HEALTHY AND DELICIOUS TREAT!

A perfect winter beverage!

This tea is so soothing, relaxing, healthy, and delicious, and it is my new favorite!

Chai Tea is a health-promoting beverage and a tonic for the whole body.  It supports the nervous system, energizes the body, relaxes and cleanses the mind, and is a remedy and preventive measure for colds, allergies, and other illnesses. Store tea in the refrigerator or you can freeze it.  Just heat the tea, and add almond milk and honey! I put my almond milk in my frother, and add a cinammon stick to get a real Chai feel!

REMEMBER TO USE GLUTEN FREE, AND NATURAL AND ORGANIC INGREDIENTS WHENEVER POSSIBLE!

Ingredients:  (To make two quarts):

2 quarts water
15 whole cloves
20 black peppercorns
3 sticks cinnamon or 3 t. ground cinnamon
20 whole cardamom pods (split the pods first by placing a paper towel over them, and lightly tapping on them with a plastic spatula), or 3 t. ground cardamom
8 fresh ginger slices (1/4″ thick, no need to peel)
4-5 black or green tea bags
Almond milk, and honey, if desired, to taste

Instructions:

Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil in a 3-4 quart pot.  Add cloves, and boil for one minute.  Next, add cardamon, peppercorns, cinnamon, and fresh ginger root.  Cover and boil for at least 30 minutes.  For best flavor, cover and simmer for about 2 hours!  When ready, remove from heat, add tea bags and let cool.  Strain tea.  When ready to drink, add almond or your fav dairy free milk, and sweeten to taste with honey.
