“We have no control over anyone else’s decision to live, or to die. We do all that we can, but when one decides that they no longer wish to live, no amount of talk, action, crying, pleading, or therapy will change the trajectory of their life.

It is a helpless feeling for me, and a mindset  that is incomprehensible to me. When one is living with a severe and persistent mental illness, and it is so blatantly obvious to their family, and friends, yet the “system” fails them by discharging them due to a “doctor “ who doesn’t “see” a depressed soul, and after 72 hours sets them free to self destruct, we lose a precious life…

The “system,” truly controls our lives.” – Wendy Blanchard, MS, CHHC
