TURMERIC-CINNAMON MILK TO HELP HEAL INFLAMMATION – WENDY BLANCHARD, M.S., INHC

I have been using this recipe as a natural healing remedy for pain and inflammation. Turmeric and cinnamon have some proven healing properties, and I have recommended my milk recipe to friends who say they feel better as soon as they drink it! From chronic muscle and joint pain, to swollen neck glands and sore throats, I have gotten some positive feedback on my recipe!

“The health benefits of cinnamon can be attributed to its antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, astringent and anticlotting properties. Cinnamon is rich in essential minerals such as manganese, iron and calcium, while also having a high content of fiber.”

Turmeric/Curcumin is a powerful anti inflammatory, so powerful that it matches the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs!

Almond oil also helps to relieve inflammation.

My recipe, of course, is made only with natural, gluten free and dairy free ingredients, and is so yummy! I did not have to use a sweetener in my milk, but if you like, use raw honey.

Ingredients:

2 cups Almond milk
1 heaping teaspoon Turmeric
1/8 t. pure Cinnamon oil
1/4 t. Almond oil
cinnamon sticks, if desired

Place almond milk and turmeric in a saucepan and stir to dissolve the turmeric. Cook on low for about 3-4 minutes. Add in cinnamon oil and almond oil. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired.

If you want to make a really potent Turmeric paste, see recipe below, and then add 1 heaping teaspoon of the paste into the almond milk, simmering for about 4 minutes. Add in cinnamon and almond oil (great lubricants for joints and muscles!), stir for about a minute, pour into a mug, and add cinnamon sticks, if desired!

Turmeric Paste

Recipe for paste:

1/2 cup water
1/4 cup turmeric
Put water into a small saucepan with turmeric until its a paste. Add more water, if needed. Cook on medium low for about 6 minutes.

To your wellness!
